Truth.... isn't it strange?

" Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities . Truth isn't "

it's all good!

Just put a second coat of Oil polyurethane on it. Mirror with frame is 29 "X 33" . This used to be a door on a cabinet. Found it in a second hand shop. The circle on the top right is actually a finger pull to open the sliding door.

I didn't add a stain color to the bare wood and I almost always use Oil based  polyurethane on pieces that have bare wood exposed . The result is this rich amber given to the wood grain. Water based products just don't compare with the depth you see here.

Having what others consider a flaw is what I see as an asset. This sliding cabinet door with it's little circle finger pull becomes a functional piece of art. It's "all good" now!

Added a touch to the side of high boy. A little bronze and purple highlights

this mirror was with the set and had been painted white. Sanded, then undercoat of the blue used in accents. Then a light brushing of antique bronze.... using liquitex soft bodied acrylic bronze. I will spray a couple of coats of clear lacquer on this and the dressers soon.

front of this drawer was painted over for yrs . Had to scrape it off to repaint and this is what I found. This little mini cabinet is to be painted along with the dresser set. All had been together for yrs. This cabinet sits on the dresser as a jewelry case

I wonder what the other drawer says and what this brand is . Possibly a retail sales cabinet

here is the method to my madness

almost done with the design on this mirror. the purple mess is from pushing the paint in under the frame

Design started with repeating the circle to incorporate the finger hold. this mirror was an old cabinet door at one time. It all looks very rough now but in a few more days....funk and beauty
